IMPACT Orientation Parent Sessions
As the Office of Admissions has hosted their IMPACT New Student Orientation sessions over the past month, parents of new students have also had an opportunity to get their own orientation to Troy! The IDEA Bank has been proud to serve as the location for the parent social that takes place the night of orientation sessions.
Young Leaders of East Alabama
The Young Leaders of East Alabama attended Troy University last week for a 3-day leadership training seminar. Throughout the seminar, nine students had the opportunity to learn and develop leadership skills. IDEA Bank Program Coordinator, Mauree Alice Porter, joined Sorrell College of Business faculty member Preston Pritchett to host an educational session on the importance of public speaking and how to be an effective public speaker.
Thank you, groups and organizations!

Student-Athlete NIL Program
On June 13th, we launched a program designed for Troy University student-athletes to provide practical resources and education to apply to their own NIL growth strategies. This course aims to:
Equip Troy University student-athletes for the current Name, Image, and Likeness marketplace.
Serve as a tool for navigating the highly competitive NIL landscape.
Act as a self-paced and readily available program with modules on personal branding, financial literacy, NCAA compliance, and how to get started.
Be a program available to all Troy University student-athletes via their Troy University Canvas account.
COMING UP IN JULY
Here are programs/operations that we have coming up to look forward to in July:
IDEA Vault Podcast Studio Installation
As you know from our previous newsletter, the renovations on our vault project are complete and we are almost ready for the installation of our IDEA Vault Podcast Studio! Over the next few weeks, along with the help of close friends of the IDEA Bank, we will be installing equipment and getting the studio up and running!
We look forward to the IDEA Vault Podcast Studio existing as a resource for you in the near future!
High School Entrepreneurship Summer Camp
Our IDEA Bank High School Entrepreneurship is coming up in just one short week! 10 students have been selected to attend this year’s camp which will offer students an opportunity to learn what it takes to successfully launch an idea into a profitable business. Each day, students will lean into their interests and develop their ideas.
Daily sessions will provide students with the skills and knowledge to turn their idea into a business pitch. The week will conclude with a pitch competition, where students will use what they’ve learned to pitch their product or service. The winner of the competition will win a $2,000 scholarship to Troy University!
The pitch competition will be held on July 22nd from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and is open to the public! For inquiries about or to find out how you can help with this year’s camp, please call us at 334-808-6777 or email us at ideabank@troy.edu.
