Join us for Knowledge Sharing, Networking, and Free Lunch! Kick Off the Idea Empowerment Series
Do you have a business or an idea that could make an impact? The Idea Empowerment Series is designed to help you refine your vision and take action. We’re starting with Discovering Your WHY, a workshop focused on knowledge sharing, networking, and expert guidance to help you refine your idea or vision and grow.
The series, part of the Idea Empowerment Series & Competition, kicks off this Wednesday, February 19th at noon with Discovering Your WHY, helping you uncover your purpose and best identify community needs.
Featuring Guest Speakers:
Lauri Chapman – Executive Director of the Elba Housing Authority and Board Member for Restoration 154, a nonprofit organization focusing on community impact
Bethany Allen – President of the Pike County Chamber of Commerce
As if knowledge sharing, learning, and networking isn’t enough to want to attend the first session of the series, we’re also providing a free lunch for all attendees!

IDEA Bank Named Finalist for National Entrepreneurship Education Award
We are thrilled to announce that the Troy University IDEA Bank has been recognized as a finalist for the USASBE Excellence in Co-Curricular Innovation Award. This prestigious award, presented by the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE), honors innovative co-curricular programs that make a significant impact on entrepreneurship education.
Our Director, Lynne George, represented Troy University and the IDEA Bank at the USASBE 2025 Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada this past weekend where she participated in a finalist panel and presented two ongoing IDEA Bank programs.

The Student-Made Store is Open!
With the semester in full swing, don’t forget that the Student-Made Store is open and ready for business! Conveniently located both online and at the IDEA Bank in Downtown Troy, the store features products and services from Troy University student entrepreneurs. From handcrafted goods and apparel to unique services, you can support student businesses while discovering one-of-a-kind items.
Stop by during store hours (currently Monday-Friday, 10am-5pm) and see what’s new this semester!
Are you or do you know someone interested in becoming a creator? Applications are always open for student creators looking to showcase and sell their products.
We also ask that you mark your calendar for Saturday, March 8th as our Student-Made Troy creators will be set up for Downtown Troy’s annual Spring Market! This will be a fantastic time to meet the student creators while supporting the local community.
