YOU’RE INVITED: Cutting the Ribbon on the Idea Vault Podcast Studio
Have you heard about the upcoming launch of the Idea Vault Podcast Studio? This has been a collaborative project one year in the making that works to advance the ever-growing landscape of the digital audio world as a resource-sharing tool right here in Troy, Alabama. We transformed the existing bank vault, full of shiny old safety deposit boxes (and some cobwebs), into a modern podcast studio with high-quality equipment.
The Vault Studio will be available for Troy University students, faculty, and staff to start their own podcasting journey and/or record their own audio with top-notch, professional equipment.
Join us at the grand opening and Ribbon Cutting Social for our Idea Vault Podcast Studio on Tuesday, September 26 at 5 p.m.
Light refreshments will be provided, and the first 25 guests will receive a free Idea Vault Podcast t-shirt. We will also have a very exciting announcement at this event! Join us to hear it first or tune into your inbox for a special edition of IDEA Bank Buzz on Wednesday, Sept. 27.
Down. Set. Network!
This tailgate-themed “Business After Hours” event is an opportunity for business owners, local leaders, and other community members to gather to catch up, discuss current topics in our community, and network with like-minded professionals in various fields.
Win exclusive TROY raffle prizes, enjoy a tailgate-style food spread catered by Sip’s, shop TROY gear from Trojan Threads, and more during this event! RSVP now to claim your two free drink tickets.

Congratulations to this year’s scholarship recipients!
The IDEA Bank is proud to offer two scholarship opportunities thanks to generous donors.
We are excited to extend congratulations to this year’s scholarship recipients: Catelyn Blackmon, founder and CEO of Dreams Agency LLC, and Kaleyah Gilbert, owner of Kaley Kartoons & Graphics.
More about the IDEA Bank’s annual scholarship opportunities:
The Harrell McKinney Endowed Entrepreneur Scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in an entrepreneurship minor or students with an approved business operating in the IDEA Bank.
The Southeast Gas Endowed IDEA Bank Scholarship is awarded to a student with a declared minor in entrepreneurship and participation in the IDEA Bank entrepreneurship curriculum.
Recipients are chosen through a competitive application process which requires a business proposal submission that is evaluated by the IDEA Bank scholarship committee. If you fit into one of the above descriptions, be sure to check the IDEA Bank website in Spring 2024 for the 2024-25 scholarship applications!
A look back at the 2023 Taste of Troy
Taste of Troy gave Troy University students the opportunity to meet local business owners in the Troy community. In partnership with the City of Troy and the Troy University SGA, the IDEA Bank served as the host for this connection opportunity.
Local businesses set up in the IDEA Bank with free samples, coupons, giveaways, and promotions geared toward the students while Guilty Pleasure, a student-owned and operated band, entertained the outside crowd with live music on the square.
The annual Taste of Troy is a great example of the collaborative environment the IDEA Bank seeks to foster, and we are proud to help introduce students to the diverse business community that the Troy community offers.
You may see some new faces at the IDEA Bank! Amanda and Tamia will be helping us throughout the semester to maintain the operations of the IDEA Bank and to expand our areas of research.
Amanda is a Sorrell College of Business student with a focus in Marketing. She will be assisting with research and program development, marketing tactics, maintaining daily operations, and more.
Tamia is a Nursing student who will be assisting in daily operations, event management, and more.
If you see them around downtown, give them a high five and a warm welcome!
