First, what a year!
Let me begin with a large thank you to all of the IDEA Bank students, faculty, staff, partners, supporters, and visitors that I have had the pleasure of meeting throughout this year.
I moved into a role with the IDEA Bank in March of this year and it has been a powerful year of program building! We have made so much progress in the last several months and it is all due to the support I have received from all of you. The future of the IDEA Bank certainly is bright.
I am not only in your inbox today to celebrate 2021, but also to notify you of some temporary changes to the IDEA Bank schedule, services, and points of contact as I prepare for a short leave of absence. This December, I will be welcoming my first child into the world! To do this, I will be taking a 12-week maternity leave. The IDEA Bank will still be open and capable of offering most of the services we have been promoting, but, due to staffing shortages, the breadth of these services will be limited until my return in March.
What You Need to Know
Holiday Closure - Unless you have an existing event scheduled, the IDEA Bank will be closed to the public for the rest of December until University classes resume in January.
Hours of Operation - In January and February, the IDEA Bank’s regular hours of operation will be limited to M-F, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m., excluding specially scheduled events.
Event/Meeting Bookings - You will continue to have the ability to book meetings and events as needed - even beyond the abbreviated business hours - using the online booking tools available at www.troy.edu/ideabank.
How to Get In Touch - The best way to reach someone with the IDEA Bank during my absence is by emailing ideabank@troy.edu. Multiple University staff members will be monitoring the inbox and will respond to you within 1-2 business days.
Student Launchpad Program - One-on-one student consulting will be paused until March 7. Students should continue to use the online booking tool at www.troy.edu/ideabank to schedule any appointments after this date.
Programs & Events - We do not have any scheduled workshops or seminars scheduled during the next three months, but our staff will add educational opportunities as they become available. If you are interested in hosting a program or event, please email ideabank@troy.edu or use the booking request form to submit your information for follow-up.
Stay in Touch - You may not see as much content from the IDEA Bank over the next 3 months, but the center is still an available resource to you, so do not hesitate to reach out for assistance by emailing ideabank@troy.edu.
See You Soon
Happy holidays and I will see you in March for another great year!
Best,
Lynne Firmin George
