The IDEA Bank is accepting applications for the 2nd annual High School Entrepreneurship Summer Camp
The Entrepreneurship Summer Camp is a 1-week program that will offer an opportunity for young aspiring entrepreneurs to learn what it takes to successfully launch an idea into a profitable business. The camp will provide high school students with technical training, hands-on activities, and real-life leadership opportunities related to entrepreneurship while fostering creativity, innovation, confidence, and idea development. Each day will challenge students to lean into their interests and develop their ideas.
The week will lead up to a pitch competition, where students will use what they've learned to pitch their product or service. The presentations will be reviewed by a panel of judges who will award the grand prize winner a $2,000 scholarship to Troy University. The deadline to apply is June 16. More information and the application can be found at the link below.
APRIL RECAP
April was a busy month of events and programs! Check out some photos and highlights from the past month:
Countryside Kennels wins Student Marketing Competition
Sarah Snyder, owner of Countryside Kennels, and winner of our Student Business Marketing Competition, launched her dog boarding service in 2022 and is currently a sophomore studying business at TROY. Countryside Kennels offers dog boarding and dog daycare services in Coffee County, inspired by Sarah’s own pup, Jethro. Help us in congratulating Sarah!
21 student-owned businesses participated in the inaugural Spring Student Market
On April 13th, we hosted the inaugural Spring Student Market here at the IDEA Bank. 21 different student-owned businesses joined in on the fun and totaled over 75 collective sales! These students are the future and we were so glad to be able to see each of their individual dreams in action!
Featured Program: Social Media Strategies for Businesses
More than 30 local business owners gathered at the IDEA Bank to hear from Troy University’s Matt Clower, Senior Director of Communications, and Jonathan Sellers, Social Media Manager about how to manage social media more strategically. This event was a great event held by the Troy University IDEA Bank, City of Troy, and Pike County Chamber of Commerce!
28 Entrepreneurs graduated from the Community Entrepreneurship Bootcamp in Dothan, AL
Congratulations to the 28 graduates of the inaugural Community & Entrepreneurship Bootcamp in Dothan, AL!
